New didactic concepts (blended learning, "flipped classroom") consist of alternating self-learning and face-to-face phases, with the former taking place in the LMS, i.e. online. However, no analysis has yet been carried out as to how students act with the material in the self-learning phase, or the teachers are not provided with any information about the learning progress of the students during the self-learning phase. In this paper, concepts of learning and teaching analytics are presented to answer these questions and to integrate the measures derived from them into the teaching processes in a sustainable manner.}, subject = {teaching analytics}, language = {en} } @inproceedings{MehnenRattaySlowik, author = {Mehnen, Lars and Rattay, Frank and Slowik, Peter}, title = {Building a satellite over the internet}, series = {Proceedings of 2nd International Conference of Recent Advances in Space Technologies 2005}, booktitle = {Proceedings of 2nd International Conference of Recent Advances in Space Technologies 2005}, publisher = {IEEE}, pages = {87 -- 89}, subject = {Internet}, language = {en} } @inproceedings{KaniusasMehnenKoseletal., author = {Kaniusas, Eugenijus and Mehnen, Lars and Kosel, J{\"u}rgen and Pf{\"u}tzner, Helmut and Zakarevicius, Linas and Alonderis, Audrius and Varoneckas, Giedrius and Meydan, Turgut and Vazquez, Manuel and Rohn, Michael and Merlo, Alberto and Marquardt, Bernd}, title = {Working point optimisation of magnetoelastic bending sensor during long term monitoring}, series = {Proceedings of the 8th International Conference on Biomedical Engineering}, booktitle = {Proceedings of the 8th International Conference on Biomedical Engineering}, pages = {56 -- 61}, subject = {Sensor}, language = {en} } @inproceedings{MehnenPfuetznerKrismanicetal., author = {Mehnen, Lars and Pf{\"u}tzner, Helmut and Krismanic, Georg and Leiss, Elisabeth and Krell, Christian}, title = {2D Magnetisation Control by Means of Evolutionary Algorithms}, series = {Proceedings of 1 and 2-dimensional Measurement and Testing, Vienna (Austria)}, booktitle = {Proceedings of 1 and 2-dimensional Measurement and Testing, Vienna (Austria)}, pages = {122 -- 130}, subject = {Algorithm}, language = {en} } @inproceedings{MehnenSvecPfuetzneretal., author = {Mehnen, Lars and Svec, Peter and Pf{\"u}tzner, Helmut and Duhaj, Pavel}, title = {Displacement sensor based on an amorphous bilayer}, series = {Proceedings of the 15th Soft Magnetic Material Conference}, booktitle = {Proceedings of the 15th Soft Magnetic Material Conference}, subject = {Magnetics}, language = {en} } @inproceedings{KaniusasPfuetznerMehnenetal., author = {Kaniusas, Eugenijus and Pf{\"u}tzner, Helmut and Mehnen, Lars and Kosel, J{\"u}rgen and Varoneckas, Giedrius and Meydan, Turgut and Vazquez, Manuel and Rohn, Michael and Merlo, Alberto and Marquardt, Bernd}, title = {Magnetoelastic Skin Curvature Sensor for Biomedical Applications}, series = {Proceedings of Sensor 2004}, booktitle = {Proceedings of Sensor 2004}, isbn = {0-7803-8692-2}, subject = {Magnetism}, language = {en} } @inproceedings{MehnenSlovikRattayetal., author = {Mehnen, Lars and Slovik, Peter and Rattay, Frank and van't Klooster, Kees}, title = {Reusability Study of a Meteosat Antenna for a Student MicroSatellite}, series = {Proceedings of the 28th ESA Antenna Workshop on Space}, booktitle = {Proceedings of the 28th ESA Antenna Workshop on Space}, subject = {Outer Space}, language = {en} } @inproceedings{KrizekLangerLeitgebetal., author = {Krizek, Gerd Christian and Langer, Karin and Leitgeb, Erich and Seyringer, Dana and Schreivogl, Paul and Grabher-Meyer, Arno}, title = {Educational Activities with Photonics Explorer}, series = {2022 International Conference on Broadband Communications for Next Generation Networks and Multimedia Applications (CoBCom)}, booktitle = {2022 International Conference on Broadband Communications for Next Generation Networks and Multimedia Applications (CoBCom)}, publisher = {IEEE}, pages = {7}, abstract = {In this paper we present various educational activities with Photonics Explorer, an educational kit developed by the photonics research team B - PHOT at VUB (Vrije Universiteit Brussel) for students at secondary schools. The concept is a 'lab-in-a-box' that enables students of the 2 nd and 3 rd grade to do photonics experiments themselves at school with lasers, LEDs, lenses, optical fibers, and other high-tech components. Even though, the kit was developed for the secondary schools, we use experiments from the kit also for some other teaching activities such as lectures at the university, photonics workshops for teachers and children at primary/secondary schools or for events such as children's/youth's university or the night of sciences.
